In this video I show how easy and quick it is to follow on one crop with another using the no dig method. Succession planting is straightforward when your soil is in good health, and you don’t disturb it.
This small 8x4ft bed (2m x 1.2m) has already produced a lot of food this spring, and there’s more to come. I focus here on spinach, showing when to harvest the last leaves, how to clear the plants while leaving roots in the soil, and options for what to plant next.
You’ll see French beans going in, plus a look at salad onions affected by allium leaf miner, fennel coming close to harvest, and space opening up for possibly some red cabbage. All of this without digging or worrying about rotation—just planting according to what you would like to eat.
