Power a cell phone with out a battery. I solder the ends of a USB power cable to the 3 connections were the battery goes. The USB cable I used the red was ground and the wight positive. The 3rd connector found out have to have it to ground then plug in the USB and it will power on with out a battery.
The battery in mine swelled up and moved the glass screen out. Something it did not break it. I could find no YouTube video that shows this with out using a battery. The battery's go bad with time so this is good to just power it up.
I mainly use this for a clock app any way. So it stays at home as a clock and don't need the battery.
Just drilled a small hole in the plastic back to run the USB cable though.
I think this will help others who want to do this. If you have 4 wires for the battery one is the temp and I guess don't have to hook that up.
I used a X-acto Knife to make the hole in back just turning it around wile pressing on it.
