This video is a comparison of NKP 587's whistle over the years. The engine wore 2 whistles over its 15 years in excursion service, the 1st being its original NKP 5 Chime, which it wore from 1918 as built until 1989 when it was retired & the 2nd being the NKP 5 Chime off of sister engine, NKP H6-d Mikado 624 which it wore from 1991 until 2002. 587's bell was omitted from this comparison as has remained the same since it was built in 1918.
