This two-story, 10,000-square-foot store is packed with exclusive gaming merchandise, playable game demos, character statues, apparel, plushies, hardware, and a small museum of Nintendo history. Originally opened as the PokĂŠmon Center New York in 2001, it relaunched as Nintendo World on May 14, 2005, and was renovated and renamed Nintendo New York in 2016.
Nintendo itself was founded way back in 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi in Kyoto, Japan, as a maker of traditional hanafuda playing cards. Over more than 135 years it evolved into one of the worldâs most beloved video game companies, creating legendary franchises and selling hundreds of millions of consoles.
Inside youâll see displays and merch celebrating:
Legendary classics like Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, and PokĂŠmon
Fan-favorite series such as Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart, and Metroid
Newer and recent titles from the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 era (including big releases and collections featuring Mario, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Donkey Kong, and more)
