In this video I am once again loading a 64DD development demo off a blue development disk, and running it on the N64. However, this time I am using a special Cartridge Bus Slitter board called the DCC adapter and using the special IPL "DISK" cartridge or IPL cartridge. This cartridge provides the Development 64DD drives access to special Fonts and Wav data.

If the IPL DISK cart is not used when running a 64DD dev demo, the font data will be missing.

If you are using the Partner-N64 development kits, the IPL DISK cart is inserted in a special cartridge slot located at the top of the Partner-N64 cartridge itself. This allows the N64 access to the special Fonts and Wav data.

Now when you are testing your 64DD game to confirm it can run with an N64 Dev flashcart, this is where the DCC adapter comes into play. You insert the Dev flash cart in one slot, and the IPL DISK cart in the other. This allows the N64 access to the needed bootloader as well as Fonts and wav data.

This was a cool little hardware demo I wanted to share with you all.
Enjoy!

Cheers!
-Gerry
