I spent 3 mornings trying to photograph Canyon Wrens in Arches National Park. I had found 2 individuals about 10 minutes apart from each other with incredible scenery around each one of them. I shot specifically at sunrise because in a popular park like this it was one of the best ways to have very few people around, as well as the sunrise was visible from the first bird’s location and gave me an opportunity for stunning small in frame photos. Each morning was different and this video was from the last morning. The Canyon Wren was the least cooperative on this particular day and I only got 2 photos of the bird but they were my favorite photos of the entire trip! I was shooting with the Nikon Z9 and the Nikon Z 24-120mm f/4 as well as the Nikon Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 so I had a wide range of focal lengths covered. I’ve included some of the photos from previous days when I wasn’t recording to show off the variety of photos I was able to capture in these 3 short mornings.
