Nikko (日光) is a great place for people living in Tokyo (東京) to have a day trip or weekend getaway. We challenged ourselves to try and discover some hikes that were off the beaten track - and we were successful!

We did a nature hike to Sukkansawa waterfall スッカン沢滝 which was truly amazing - taking about 4 hours for a round trip. We had a quick feed at Gusto ガスト and stayed in an AirBnB overnight, and then went and explored the touristy Chuzenji lake 中禅寺湖 and Kegon falls 華厳の滝 area.
