"I was fully expecting absolutely no change but the quality of life changes were nice. Really liked the upgrade to the hatchet.
Before I say anything else, I am going to address the randomly dinging elephant in the room. I was on a small achievement hunt. Those dings where Steam telling me I got the achievement. I unfortunately didn't get all of them.
When I looked to see what thoughts I written down for Nightmare House 2, I only gave one sentence and the length of the raw footage apparently. So I would like to make up for what little I wrote down.
The Half-Life 2 map pack was good, the first iteration of Nightmare House 2 was a pain in the butt to get to work, Nightmare House 2 (2015) was fine with the downside of having the firearms weakened for 'balance' purposes. And finally, Nightmare House: The original mod felt like a big quality of life update. Really loved what they did with the hatchet.
So yeah, overall, I would recommend all of the iterations of Nightmare House. Except the first iteration of Nightmare house 2. I had to copy everything from Half-Life 2: Episode 2 to get models, textures, sounds, etc, to show up! Any other iteration of Nightmare House, I would highly recommend.
The axe is definitely one of my favorite melee weapons. Not my top though, that would be the shovel from SMod.
One more thing, this mod is free. I would recommend you at least try it. It embodies the olden days where YouTube gaming was 'the thing' back then."
