On September 10, ICP stays open until 9 PM for a very special night of fashion and ballroom!
Produced with Nick Blu, photographer, visual producer, and member of New York City’s ballroom community, "ICP’s Late Night for Fashion" takes inspiration from "Yves Saint Laurent and Photography" and the history and creativity, of ballroom culture.
In this video, Nick shares more about his work in the ballroom community and what to expect from the night, which will feature a conversation with photographer Gerard H. Gaskin and Michael Roberson on fashion, photography, and archiving ballroom culture from 6 PM–7 PM, followed by an open-to-all mini-ball in the "Yves Saint Laurent and Photography" gallery with Fashion and Runway categories, hosted by MC Legendary Leggoh and DJ Icon MikeQ.
Plus, from 6–8 PM, stop by ICP’s outdoor Fujifilm instax Portrait Studio pop-up with fashion photographer Justin J Wee (@djdumpling) for a free portrait.
Mini-ball categories:
Fashion: Bring a statement look that tells your story, from timeless tailoring to avant-garde glamour. You do not need to wear YSL, this category is open to interpretation, but inspiration from YSL is encouraged!
Runway: Pay homage to the designer's legacy and bring to the runway a look pulled out of the Yves Saint Laurent photography archives—creatively re-imagined through your own lens.
Winners in each category will receive a portrait studio session at ICP and a custom ICP Grand Prize Trophy!
Come early or stay later than usual during these one-night-only extended hours to view "Yves Saint Laurent and Photography" and "Photobooks USA, 2000–25," on view through September 28.
