NFL Fever Deserved Better
Before EA secured exclusive NFL simulation rights, Microsoft was building its own football franchise with NFL Fever.
While it never reached the heights of Madden or NFL 2K, each new entry improved on the last. From its fast-paced gameplay to fun unlockables like hidden stadiums—including an aircraft carrier—NFL Fever was starting to carve out its own identity.
Then, in 2004, it all came to an end.
Looking back, it’s hard not to wonder what this series could have become if it had been given a few more years to evolve.
