Why We’re OK With Nintendo Remaking Star Fox 64 Again
After all, it’s not like the franchise has had a straightforward path since then. Nintendo experimented with Star Fox Adventures, Star Fox Assault, and Star Fox Command, each taking the series in a different direction. Then came Star Fox Zero, which honestly had some great ideas but was so heavily tied to the Wii U GamePad that it never got the second chance it deserved.
Unlike Mario Kart 8, which escaped the Wii U and went on to become one of the best-selling games of all time on the Nintendo Switch, Star Fox Zero was left behind on a console that only sold around 13 million units.
That’s why we’re optimistic about this new Star Fox release. For the first time in years, the franchise is returning to a massively successful platform with a huge audience and a chance to reconnect with both longtime fans and a new generation of players.
Maybe this is finally the opportunity Star Fox has been waiting for.
