Tonight our Prop Job adventure heads to New Zealand, where towering mountains, deep glacial valleys, and rapidly changing weather combine to create one of the most spectacular flying experiences anywhere on Earth.
After surviving the cliffs of Lesotho and the short runway at St. Barthélemy, it's time for the mighty Douglas DC-6 to face another legendary destination.
Departing Christchurch, we'll cross New Zealand's breathtaking South Island with our first stop at Queenstown—an airport famous for its challenging terrain, precision approaches, and ever-changing mountain weather. After a brief stop, we'll continue west into the heart of Fiordland National Park for our final challenge: the world-famous Milford Sound.
Surrounded by towering granite cliffs, waterfalls, and ancient glaciers, Milford Sound offers one of aviation's most unforgettable approaches. The narrow valley leaves little room for error, demanding careful planning, accurate flying, and complete respect for both the terrain and the weather.
Can a classic four-engine propliner conquer one of the most beautiful—and demanding—approaches in the world?
