For several years, Pilentum’s model train video channel has been presenting documentaries about Jaime Ruz Sandoval’s garden railway layout located in Chile, South America. The model railroad layout is currently being retrofitted with an overhead line (catenary). Furthermore, compared to the older videos, we can see that beautiful buildings on a scale of 1/32 have been added to the model railway layout. All these model buildings, installed in the background along the railway line, were handmade by Jaime Ruz Sandoval.
The special appeal of watching this garden railroad layout comes from the fact that the real background with trees and bushes blends into the model world. Due to the real sunlight, due to the weathered locomotives and due to the detail and finesse of the model houses some scenes appear – at least at first glance – absolutely realistic.
Since it is sometimes difficult for Jaime Ruz Sandoval to order model trains and model locomotives in Germany and then have them exported to Chile, Pilentum is happy to help him from time to time. Among the most recently ordered locomotives are the “Märklin Köf II”, which has been beautifully weathered, the Swiss electric locomotive “KM1 VECTRON” BR 193 469 SBB Cargo, type “Alpenpiercer” with four pantographs, and the great French electric locomotive “Modelbex SNCF CC 6500”.
Jaime Ruz Sandoval sent Pilentum several video clips of these new locomotives via the Internet. Pilentum cut and edited these video clips to create this short video presentation. Thus, we can all enjoy these new train sets and model locomotives.
