Sony announced they're done with physical games starting in 2028.
There's a pretty good chance I won't be getting the PS6 at this point

The complete disregard and disrespect for the fans who care deeply about physical PS games might be the biggest slap to the face I've see from this company. Absolute joke. As consumer preferences and the broader entertainment industry continue to shift away from physical discs to digital, physical game disc production for all new games releasing on PlayStation consoles will be discontinued starting January 2028. Following this date, new games will be available on PlayStation Store and at retailers in digital formats only. This transition has no impact on games that already released, or will be releasing, prior to January 2028 in disc format. Kojima has spoken in Rome about the end of PlayStation's physical format: I think PlayStation executives are so out of touch if they didn’t realize how bad this new would go down amongst some of their most hardcore fans. I was so shocked when they dropped the news just like everyone else.
I hope they can figure out something to make the situation better and not just ignore some of their most dedicated fans

It has now been 6 days since the PlayStation post: PlayStation hasn't posted in over 5 days on Twitter (X) 🎮

• The post announcing they're ending physical game production currently has 8 approved Community Notes
- it's official the 4th most viewed biggest gaming post ever on Twitter/X (164m views, 1-3 are GTA 6 posts)
- SONY wanted to wait this out but people are not willing to forget
- This had created a Cultural phenomenon around the world
- More people than ever are speaking out on it
SONY messed up bad here, there is no alternative than to respond. No one will forget THIS!!! Xbox really just fired over 3 thousand ppl and sold off at least 4 of their 1st party studios, and it's still not as bad as that shit PlayStation announced last week. What a world. REPORT: PlayStation has apparently blindsided, and not told its publishers and business partners, and even branches in other markets, about cancelling physical games🚀
