As I’ve said before, people better get REAL comfortable with their PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2.
We’re in for a very long gen. The next batch of consoles is likely to be treated more like a cellphone upgrade at this rate. Sony says it hasn't decided when to launch PS6, nor how much it will cost, with memory shortages set to continue. RUMOR: PlayStation 6 could launch with a 1TB Gen 5 SSD and without a disc drive as a cost-cutting move.
Estimated BOM is ~$760, potentially dropping to ~$699 with subsidy.

It would cost them more more to delay than to pay extra. Xbox CEO Asha Sharma says they can't make enough consoles to meet demand
They are facing a "hardware component crisis" with costs up to 5x higher than two years ago Holy hell! Xbox is totally screwed, Project Helix is going to be canned I bet.
I'm officially on the GTA 6 will come to Switch 2 bandwagon now. Might not be Day 1 but I think probably around the time it comes to PC. Rockstar have no choice in the matter I feel with Microsoft self-destructing. Memory costs were already 2x 2025's cost in February 2026 and is expected to be 5x higher in 2027 Xbox prospects are bleak at the moment with all the talk of "radically different" console business models for Xbox, I think it was clear from Asha's Bloomberg interview that the future of Xbox consoles is OEM hardware. Why say Xbox will put out "great reference experiences" and hint at a Windows future if not
