đ§ Two years ago, I built an FM radio using the LilyGO T-Embed development board. Since then, someone used part of my UI code and paired it with the SI4732 radio receiver chip to make a full-band + SSB radioâand it was impressive!
Recently, LilyGO released their own version: the T-Embed SI4732, which combines the original T-Embed with the SI4732 chip. They sent me a sample board, which came with pre-installed firmware. While the original firmware worked well, I wanted something easier to use, more intuitive, and better lookingâso I rewrote it from scratch.
⥠In this video, Iâll show you how to:
Install and use my new firmware (v0.0.1)
Navigate its features and UI
Understand whatâs changed and improved
This also marks my very first step into ham radio. Just a week ago, I knew almost nothing about it. Using the original firmwareâand talking to ChatGPT for hours about frequencies, modulations, and bandsâtaught me a ton.
đď¸ To ham radio enthusiasts: I'm sure I made some mistakes along the way, so your feedback is more than welcome. Let me know what could be better!
