Each winter, the Nevada Northern Railway hosts two weekends of photo charters for photographers. These weekends include three days of runbys with a variety of consists over several portions of the line. In 2023, the Nevada Northern received a record amount of snowfall, which provided participants a fantastic opportunity to photograph and video the railroad and locomotive 81 in spectacular winter conditions. For this specific weekend, 81 sported a lovely Southern Pacific 6 Chime built by the Osborne Whistle Works based in Australia. Over the course of the weekend, 81 pulled a variety of trains including a passenger train, a freight train, a ore train, and a snow train utilizing Rotary B under clear blue skies. So sit back, relax, and enjoy Nevada Northern 81 pulling trains in the snow on the Nevada Northern Railway.

A very special thank you goes out to everyone who made this trip possible.

This video was filmed on Friday, February 17, Saturday, February 18, and Sunday, February 19, 2023.
