This case that could set a precedent for the "right to have rights": on 26 September 2018, the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) heard this key case on the push-backs at the Spanish-Moroccan border. In October 2017, the Court had ruled that Spain’s practice of automatic expulsions violate human rights. This came in response to the complaints of N.D. and N.T., who were directly pushed back from Melilla to Morocco – without access to any legal procedures or protection. On the initiative and with the expertise of ECCHR they submitted complaints against Spain to the ECtHR.
