It's the most eye-catching food in Thailand, and the foundation of Thai cuisine. "Khao Gaeng", or curry and rice- imagine a street cart or table covered in trays of endless variations of incredible dishes, all sold for pennies. There are no English menus here, and the best stuff is still hidden in old neighborhoods and working class food courts. But this- this is the good stuff. This video looks at the most iconic "khao gaeng" dishes, and the recent COVID-related explosion in this style of restaurant.
