Michels Pipeline, Inc. rebuilt a natural gas compressor station on a small site in Northern Wisconsin. The crew installed two new cleaner-burning compressor units along with associated piping, electrical systems and equipment; three building; concrete foundations for site equipment and buildings; and new roads, parking and septic system. Once the new equipment was in service, Michels also decommissioned and removed the old station equipment.
The work was performed on a 1 ½-acre site, about one quarter the size of a typical compressor station site. As a result, scheduling and communication were critical to ensuring safe, efficient performance. Some work, such as pipe fabrication, was performed offsite due to space limitations.
