Daily, the sworn Deputy Sheriff's of this agency, relentlessly serve the citizen's of Alachua County no matter the cost.
Sheriff Clovis Watson Jr. asks our community to surround our Deputy Sheriff's with love and support this week as we recognize and honor their service during National Police Week 2023.
Each and every day, men and women within our community, of whom are fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, neighbors, friends and family members, will strap on a bullet resistant vest and a gun belt to courageously step into a world where it's unknown if they may return home at the end of their shift. Their love for this community and our citizen's is unwavering, as they are each willing to submit their life in protection of yours.
As you go about your day this week, please remember that their is a man or woman behind the badge that is sacrificing another minute of time with their spouse or child, another moment of missing a birthday or anniversary, another ballgame or recital, so that you may live with the freedom and security that they create.
