Yesterday I showed you a medical instrument used to probe a particularly sensitive part of the human body. Hopefully you guessed correctly that that body part is the eye. This is a Schiøtz Tonometer, introduced by Norwegian Ophthalmologist Hjalmar Schiøtz in 1905 and designed to measure intraocular pressure or IOP - a key measurement in the diagnosis of glaucoma.
