This was my first time eating Perrywinkle in Ireland. Last year I searched all over for it but I couldn’t find it. Finally, my Irish cousins helped find some to try on this beach south of the Cliffs of Moher.

Perrywinkles are found in coastal areas, they graze on algae using a tongue-like structure called a radula. The Common periwinkle is the largest northern species and reaches about an inch to an inch-and-a-half in length. #Perrywinkle
