I wanted to recap my first marathon adventure before I forget all the feels. P.S. Thanks for telling me Christine was putting the ziploc on her face. She's gonna be OK! :)
If you're up for a challenge, this is definitely something worth TRYING. Trying being the key word. Not everyone is willing to try something like this. If you asked me 2 years ago if I would ever do a marathon (cough, COACH DAMON) my answer would be HELL TO DA NO!
Never say never. After seeing Jey finish her first one last year, I knew I had to do it. I saw so many walks of life finishing such a huge feat and it made me feel empowered to give it a shot. If I don't finish, then hey, at least I tried and that's half the battle.
The pain of the body is temporary. I knew I had to get my mind over it. I also knew I should've kept my freakin peanut butter banana sandwiches! But I was thinking about weight on my back than carbs in my body.
For those of you who have followed me and my family for the last 3 years, this has also shown that deep down inside, despite the name calling, screaming, yelling, and irritation, Romel and I really do love each other after 27 years LOL!!
In sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, YOU'RE GONNA FINISH THE DAMN MARATHON even if I had to shove my foot up your a$$!
At the 20 mile mark, he said You put 20 miles down already. Six miles is your BITCH! Get it!
