This was my first Beverage antenna I built myself. I wanted to find out how would this receiving antenna work during the big international contest. What I found out- surprised me!
I used my old Elecraft K3 transceiver for this experiment, as this radio is one of the few I own having the separate Receive antenna port. If your transceiver is not equipped with such a separate RX antenna jack, you need to use an external antenna switch then.
I've probably made some mistakes building my first Beverage. I think, for example, the grounding installations for both the ground resistor and the 10:1 balun should have been better implemented. But I had no time and resources to drive something like 2-3m copper pipes deep into the ground. May be , next time, if this really matters. What does matter- is your advice! I used the 10:1 Balun and the 500 Ohm Ground Resistor by Hari Antennas, distributed by Wimo, Germany.
