MA-12 100W portable HF vertical antenna is a very good antenna, when we need a compromise between rapid deployment functionality and HF radiation efficiency. It is designed to work with no tuner on 40m to 6m bands. Although on 30m the supplied 40m loading coil is too big an inductance and takes to shortening down the antenna by half to achieve the resonance on 30m. This is not efficient solution. In this video, I present my own solution with a separate coil. It works really good, I’ve tried it in the park with my Yaesu FT-891!
