A tribute to my dad, and a montage of my last 4 months on exchange in Japan; an exchange scarred at its midpoint by the exceedingly difficult reality of my dad's unexpected death, as illustrated by the video itself. A blend of tears and happiness, freedom and regret.
It all feels like a bittersweet dream now. My father passed away during the end of my first month there, unexpectedly, with little signs, too soon and not enough time... such is the disgusting fate of our world sometimes.
My experience at AIU this Spring Semester 2019 was worth it, despite me mired in guilt for enjoying it at times. I truly know though, that it's what you wanted for me, Pa. And that's the only comfort I've got.
