Multiple Figure 8 Knot - How to Tie Multiple Figure of Eight Knot
The Multiple Figure of Eight Knot is taken from one of my favourite books, The Art of Knotting and Splicing, Day, United States Naval Institute. I find it very strange that the knot is demonstrated, yet is has the following text accompanying it, " 20. The Multiple Figure Eight Knot is tied as illustrated. It has not particular utility." I find it a little strange that this book features a knot that has no particular purpose.
I personally think that the Multiple Figure of Eight knot is a rather decorative stopper knot in the end of a rope. Another use for this knot may be a decorative way of shortening a dog lead, or something similar??
