Mpox is spreading in California, including a new type (clade 1) which can lead to serious illness. Being fully vaccinated protects you and your community. Here are the facts:
👉 Mpox infection can cause rashes, sores or bumps anywhere on the body.
👉 Mpox spreads via sex or intimate contact (such as massage and cuddling) and skin-to-skin contact with someone who has mpox—they may not have obvious symptoms.
👉 For the best protection, make sure you get both vaccine doses at least 28 days apart. Boosters (3rd doses) are not currently recommended.
