Today, Dr. Paul Heidebrecht, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies and the Director of the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement (CPA) at Conrad Grebel University College and University of Waterloo shares about the MPACS courses he teaches and how these courses motivate students to go on to intern and work with different advocacy groups and/or organizations within Canada and beyond.
He will be teaching a PACS undergraduate course this fall 2023, PACS 315: Engineering and Peace, which is built on the conviction that the kinds of problems engineers around the world seek to address, and the ways they seek to address them, should matter for students interested in advancing peace building work around their communities and at the world at large. This course can be taken as an elective by all students at UWaterloo.
