As I settle in to my new life in the misty mountains of Northern Portugal my main focus is still on keeping warm and dry. I’m getting to grips with the heating system powered by a wood burning stove.
Also this week an upsetting event unfolds on my friend's small farm where Free-range cows, descending from the mountains in search of sustenance, leave a trail of destruction in their wake, destroying precious trees. It's a poignant moment that sheds light on the delicate balance between traditions and livelihood.
