In this video I share a simple motor speed adjustment I made on a small AM, FM cassette player by adjusting the variable resistor in the motor. When I first adjusted the motor I was not able to raise the speed very high, and the sound had a warble noise as if the play back speed was going up and down. I was about to give up, but since variable resistors are known to get dead spots much like volume controls in stereos and other devices, I sprayed some electronic lubricant on the variable resistor inside of the motor, and the problem was solved.
