The Stelvio 1200 4V is a Moto Guzzi enduro-type motorcycle produced by the Mandello company from 2007 to 2016. Compared to the previous "Quota" model, whose layout it takes up at least in part, the "Stelvio" (the name is a tribute to the Stelvio pass, a traditional destination for motorcyclists) was designed for more road use, significantly reducing the technical characteristics for off-road vehicles and favoring the tourist set-up. Also for this model, Guzzi uses the company's classic solutions such as the V-twin engine, in this case with 4 valves per cylinder, and the shaft final transmission. From a chassis point of view, it presents classic solutions, such as the presence of an upside-down fork at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. The braking system consists of a pair of 320 mm disc brakes at the front and a single 282 mm at the rear. The basic version was later joined by the Stelvio 1200 NTX version which features a large series of accessories derived from Dakar Rally type competitions such as sump guard, engine guard, cylinder protection and hand guards, as well as a pair of aluminum panniers. Furthermore, the rear wheel has dimensions 150/70-17, instead of the more road-oriented 180/55-17 of MY 2008. Compared to the initial model, in the NTX my 2009 the engine torque has been increased and is now delivered at a lower speed than in the past. In spring 2011, a further evolution was presented with the my 2011 models: the main difference lies in the new tank with a capacity increased to 32 litres, such as to make up for the main defect of the previous series, i.e. the reduced autonomy for a motorbike that has all the comfort features for long journeys. Minor improvements concerned the injection with double lambda sensor, the rear swingarm equipped with Ohlins spring and the rider's protection thanks to new windshield and deflectors. The colors are also new (white, ocher and glossy black for the basic model) and matt black for the NTX.
