Well, I guess if you can't find proper food its better than nothing... I was surprised to see the mother sparrow feeding her chicks literal nesting materials. It looked to be some form of dried grass. It basically looks like the materials that were used to build this particular nest. Of all the nests I have observed and filmed, I have yet to see a parent feed a chick grass or nesting materials. It seemed that the baby sparrow chick wasn't too happy about it as well. It had a tough time chewing and swallowing. I'm not sure if the mother couldn't find food or just for some reason though it was a good idea to feed the chick nesting materials. The three sparrow chicks are growing fast. They are getting to be much more active and move around more frequently. They are also keeping their eyes open for longer amounts of time.
