Here is a cinematic mini documentary of an American Robin's nest incubation! I am not sure how old the eggs are as I recently discovered this hidden nest in a pine bush. There are some pretty nice angles of the nest through the branches for high quality footage. During this period, the mother Robin constantly sits on her eggs. Periodically, she will turn the eggs to ensure proper development. The mother Robin wiggling is her moving her feathers to expose the 104 degree skin to keep the eggs warm.

Watch as a robin chick steals a worm from its sibling! The chick was swallowing the worm and then the other chick pulled it out of its mouth! Pretty funny to watch. Just shows how each feeding is a mini battle amongst the chicks. The chicks are 6 days old in this video. Their eyes are just starting to open!

This is footage from these tiny Cardinal chicks first full day in the nest! Both hatched the previous day. They are both healthy and hungry for food from their parents. The mother broods the chicks for most of the day, she only leaves the nest a few times to get food for herself and the chicks. The father makes regular food deliveries to the nest. The parents are very careful while feeding the fragile chicks. These chicks spend most of the day sleeping under their mother. They are completely blind and only respond to the movement and sound of their parents!
