So I've been actually started playing Mother 3 since I really wanted to actually get to know more about the Earthbound universe which has a cult following that interested me. A few weeks later and just a little bit into Chapter 2, I'm part of that fandom :P The characters and story is just so quirky and loveable and the music gives me the same vibes, especially this song that gave me the chills the first time I heard it in-game. Hope you get the same chills from my piano cover of "Gentle Rain" from Mother 3 :D

So as Ive mentioned several times, Im part of this little videogame music cover community called Pixel Mixers, and recently they put together this album Heroes in association with GameGrooves (a videogame music promoter) in order to benefit Childs Play Charity (http://childsplaycharity.org). The theme of the album was upbeat versions of classic videogame mascot tunes, so I thought what better tune for that than Butter Building?
Ive been wanting to cover this staple videogame song forever, as who doesnt love this iconic Kirbo ditty (or this cameo melody from the Super Smash Brothers Melee Opening)? I wanted to both keep some elements of the original simplistic style while also incorporating some of the wacky piano style from newer Kirby games. Watch out for plenty of left/right hand crossing, jazzy chords, and fast-paced whimsical piano licks!
Sorry for no live video on this one, I recorded this during a wonky time so I had to record without video in order to get the finished product out by the deadline, but Im pretty happy how the arrangement turned out! Hopefully yall will enjoy the little Synthesia graphic I put in its place. And dont forget to check out the other songs on the album, many of which do have live video recordings of their performance!

Heyyyy whassup :D Hope yall are ready for another year of bangin piano covers cuz man have I got some great stuff ready! And what better way to kick off the year then to play a very popular fan requested tune, the iconic opening to Super Smash Brothers Brawl! At this point Ive played every opening theme except for Sm4shs and Ultimates on piano too o_0
While Brawl is a weird entry to the Smash series, it definitely has a special place in my heart. It was the first Smash Bros game I ever played (back at the Park & Rec center in 6th grade) and introduced me to a bunch of Nintendo franchises I now love (including Smash :P). Its also the basis for Project M, which is my current favorite Smash game with a great community.
Anyway, I hope I did this theme justice, make sure to stay tuned next week for the return of weekly epic uploads!

Happy Monster Hunter day! As a general fan of Capcom games and their music, Monster Hunter is one series that I havent gotten into yet just because it seems so daunting (it because I dont have the platforms for it haha). However after trying out the Monster Hunter Rise demo from the Switch eShop and fooling around with multiplayer modes a bit, I think Ive been having a pretty good time with it! Definitely want to try to get into the franchise with this title.
As far as the song goes, Proof of a Hero is just as iconic and daunting a track as Monster Hunter is a daunting series. Rises version of the main theme still embodies the heroic theme with so much drive while also giving its own unique flairs and colors to the piece. Big shoutout to Tim de Man for the free piano sheet music, make sure to check him out in the links below. I took the arrangement and also added a few of my own spices to it, so I hope yall enjoy it!

Has it really been 8 months since I released my last fighting game remix? Im sorry its been forever since the This Is True Love Makin future funk remix, but big fighting game collabs are coming back! Ive been planning a few since January and I cant wait to show yall more of them.
I wanted to start out strong with a song from an Arc System Works mainstay franchise, Guilty Gear! This game in particular, Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R (try saying that five times fast), is super popular for its introduction of rollback netcode on Steam (aka godlike online matches). It was for this reason that I got into the game, and now Im in love with the metal AF aesthetic of the Guilty Gear franchise (along with Daisuke Ishiwatari now being one of my favorite VGM composers ever). While I dont have a console/good PC for Guilty Gear Strive (the newest game in the series that is yet to release), the hype for the beta was unreal and the gameplay/visuals/music was amazing.
While the entire Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus R soundtrack has a ton of bangers, this particular track really hit me with those early 2000s Sonic Adventure rock vibes that I love to listen to. Its got that happy-go-lucky metal energy that matches the character of Bridget and his deadly teddy bear an yo-yo so well. Since I wanted to get authentic vibes from this cover, I had to make a rock arrangement of this somehow. Luckily I managed to get the amazing @Legendav to join on guitars/bass and Rahul Vanamali (https://www.youtube.com/c/RahulVanamali) on drums, along with arranging some fun violin lines played by @PitTan (which were actually based off some of the melodies of the Simple Life N.Y. vocal version).
Anyways, hope you enjoy this quick break from the piano covers. Now that I am basically obsessed with Arc System Works and fighting games in general, expect some top tier fighting game music remixes coming within the next few months! For now though, its Heaven or Hell, LETS ROCK!

While everyone else seemed to grow up with Sonic Adventure 2, I was stuck with Sonic Adventure DX for the Gamecube but man did I play the heck out of it. Even at a tender young age I was making jokes about the A M A Z I N G character animation with my sister and complaining about how Big the Cat levels were the only thing stopping me from getting the sweet ending level. However, what also stuck with me is the amazing soundtrack, which is why Open Your Heart is one of my favorite video tunes ever and also one of my favorite metal tracks in general. But since piano wouldnt work for covering that, I decided to go for another bopping track from the OST, the Station Square theme!
Ive wanted to do a chill cover of this track since high school, but I was never sure of how to balance the melody, chords, and bass with just two hands. But years later, I figured out that I dont have to! Though you may not see him in the video, this cover features the legendary chill guitarist Hashel, a wonderful guy who helps run the Pixel Mixers community I do some covers for. As soon as he was available for a collab, I knew I needed to snatch him and his silky smooth tones for this cover.
So I hope yall enjoy this nostalgic trip into Sonics past! Next weeks cover is kinda up in the air still, but if it turns out to what I hope itll be then you wont want to miss it...

For real though, you guys have been requesting this for literally *years*, and finally as my Thanksgiving special for yall heres the biggest, baddest, and most head bang worthy cover of the Guardian Battle Theme from Breath of the Wild for yall to enjoy!
This cover has literally been requested for years, and Ive had basic ideas for this arrangement ever since high school! I didnt think that just a normal piano cover would be fitting for this blood-raising battle theme, so something more upbeat and hard-hitting was called for IMO. However, I couldnt find someone to collab with for the longest time until just recently. So far this year Ive collabed with so many more people than before, each of them blowing me away with what they send me, and each of them helping me to do arrangements that I never wouldve dreamed could be possible in the past. However, by far this has been one of my favorite collabs, and I couldnt have asked to work with anyone more talented then the one and only Ro Panuganti.
IDK how this man does it, Ros basically a cornerstone of the VGM with all the covers he makes, all the events he runs, and how much he pushes the boundaries to VGM cover and video production. Hes definitely been an inspiration for me, so it was surreal when he accepted the collab and even offered to do so much more than I had asked for him! I couldnt have been more happy with how this turned out with Ros guidance on it.
So I hope you enjoy this big hurrah for the end of November, for the next month itll mostly be easier more chill covers for me as I prepare to do a short gig at MAGFest in January! Hope yall had a happy Thanksgiving and dont die during Black Friday plz. As for me, Ill be sticking to Cyber Monday deals.
