For real though, you guys have been requesting this for literally *years*, and finally as my Thanksgiving special for y'all here's the biggest, baddest, and most head bang worthy cover of the Guardian Battle Theme from Breath of the Wild for y'all to enjoy!
This cover has literally been requested for years, and I've had basic ideas for this arrangement ever since high school! I didn't think that just a normal piano cover would be fitting for this blood-raising battle theme, so something more upbeat and hard-hitting was called for IMO. However, I couldn't find someone to collab with for the longest time until just recently. So far this year I've collabed with so many more people than before, each of them blowing me away with what they send me, and each of them helping me to do arrangements that I never would've dreamed could be possible in the past. However, by far this has been one of my favorite collabs, and I couldn't have asked to work with anyone more talented then the one and only Ro Panuganti.
IDK how this man does it, Ro's basically a cornerstone of the VGM with all the covers he makes, all the events he runs, and how much he pushes the boundaries to VGM cover and video production. He's definitely been an inspiration for me, so it was surreal when he accepted the collab and even offered to do so much more than I had asked for him! I couldn't have been more happy with how this turned out with Ro's guidance on it.
So I hope you enjoy this big hurrah for the end of November, for the next month it'll mostly be easier more chill covers for me as I prepare to do a short gig at MAGFest in January! Hope y'all had a happy Thanksgiving and don't die during Black Friday plz. As for me, I'll be sticking to Cyber Monday deals.

I did say that my last Final Fantasy cover was the Prelude from Final Fantasy XIII one I did a couple months ago, but I guess I lied...
First of all you may be wondering Wait, theres a Piano Collection for Final Fantasy XIV?? And to that my answer is Well yes, but actually no. There was a Final Fantasy XIV arrangement album called From Astral to Umbral which featured rock band arrangements along with solo piano tracks for some reason, and then apparently the solo piano tracks were taken and put into their own album with a few other piano arrangements and released as Final Fantasy XIV Piano Collections, even though Im not sure if it comes with sheet music. However, I was fortunate enough to find that the legendary themrzakid (whos done all sorts of high quality transcriptions of the Nier: Automata Piano Collections) had sheets up for this whopping arrangement, so I had to go and try it out! And dang is it lovely.
Just wanted to try out this cover since Ive been hearing so much hype for Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers, but I dont expect much traction on this 😔But if you did enjoy it, make sure comment below so I can hear you loud and clear! I really hope youll enjoy the majestic calmness of my cover of Serenity (or the Black Shroud theme) from the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn! PLING PLING PLONG
This cover was a Patreon request from my fellow memelord Andrew Trigg! Funny enough, even I (a guy with minimal knowledge of Dark Souls asides from watching friends play it, speedruns, and the memes) recognized the tune as soon as I first listened to the song, so I was excited to tackle this classic and iconic piece. Cant believe I havent covered this VGM piano standard yet, but finally I think Ive learned to git gud as the Dark Souls peeps say :P
Funny thing about this particular recording: Even for all the emotional and nostalgic pieces on this channel, the closest Ive ever been to having an emotional reaction from performing a cover (besides popping off after finishing a really difficult piece) is feeling cold after playing Snowman from Earthbound. Ive always seen people in the Youtube comments section of this song and for the related Soul of Cinder from Dark Souls 3 say that those three piano notes make them start crying harder than an emo hearing the first G note of Welcome to the Black Parade. Since I have almost no connection with this game, I thought the same couldnt happen to me, but around 2:05 of the video I actually started tearing up during recording and couldnt stop until well after I had turned off the camera. Its crazy to think about well this song simply captures raw emotions, even without using any fancy techniques or even black keys (yes I made sure not to, just like the original).
Once again, thanks to Andrew Trigg for being a dedicated Patron and requesting this, and just remember: the real patrons are the friends we meet along the way :D Some less-somber-and-serious covers coming up for the rest of October, and yall already know something sp00py is coming up for Halloween...

Monster Hunter Rise Title Update 2 (aka Monster Hunter Rise 3.0) just got a Digital Event announcement today! To celebrate, I decided to arrange an balls-to-the-wall, virtuosic piano duet of the iconic boss theme of this game: Barbarous Beast - Magnamalo!

So yall remember back in my cover of Proof of a Hero where I said Id like to try to get into the franchise with Monster Hunter Rise?
Welp, Im now over 300 hours into this game and I think I may or may not be addicted to this franchise.
The whole franchise has some amazing tunes (and orchestral concerts, AND official jazz albums, AND EVEN official piano covers...) that I cant believe Ive been missing out on for so many years. However, with this Rise Im glad to have been able to hear this track in-game. I knew from the moment I first heard those tense strings and that luscious melody kick in that I had to cover this song. What a fitting theme for such a thematic and emphatic flagship monster, Magnamalo.
However, there was so much going on in this song that I just had to make this into a piano duet to capture the full force and essence of the piece. Im super honored to have @WolfyMelon for this cover, as shes an amazing pianist whos been covering Monster Hunter tracks for a long time (and has already covered a lot of the tunes I wanted to try out sometime haha). I havent ever made a piano duet with a pianist that isnt myself before, so for my first try at this I am super happy with how the end result came out.

So you may be asking: Why did you put that link there ^ in all caps and everything? Well, if it werent for Tonor microphones, I wouldnt have been able to make this video in the first place! For the first time in my short Youtube career, a company actually reached out to me and asked me to try out their stuff! I was ecstatic, so of course I took the opportunity get a new microphone for covers in exchange for just advertising their giveaway. I decided to pull out ye old recorder that Ive had since 3rd grade that I used for my Mario Kart Wii No Trophy for You meme cover and try to do something semi-serious with it. Im so happy and fortunate to have this opportunity to work with Tonor, hopefully Ill be able to use the mic to record more diverse covers in the future (along with using it for streaming :P).
So you also may be asking, why Ori? Actually, Ive been listening to quite a few iconic indie soundtracks recently, and Ori and the Blind Forests OST was one that especially blew me away with how breathtaking it was. That, along with Ori and the Blind Forest being released on Switch soon and Ori and the Will of the Wisps coming next year, and I knew I had to get hype for all things Ori. Besides, this song is just too cute to pass up on!
Anyways, this cover was basically a perfect storm of things all combined, and I cant believe I actually managed to put this all together in a week o_0 Next week *should* (key word: should) be a solo piano track that may or may not blow your socks off, so stay tuned!
