“I didn’t say he stole your purse.”
There’s a “default” way to pronounce this sentence, but you can deliver seven different meanings if you change the word you stress.

→ Someone else said it.
I 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻’𝘁 say he stole your purse.
→ Extra emphasis that it isn’t true.

→ I might have hinted at it, but I didn’t say it.
I didn’t say 𝗵𝗲 stole your purse.
→ You blamed the wrong person.
