The Arena of Vivec, a place where the sound of battle and the clash of blades ring out, where the roaring cheers of the crowds, an ecstasy of bloodlust, echoes from the stands, where gladiators prevail and champions are crowned! Or at least, that's what it should have been.
In reality, the central canton of Vivec, the Arena, was a dull little place in vanilla Morrowind, with little to see or do, but with today's Mods of the Day, that is no longer the case, for today we're showcasing three mods that transform the Arena, both inside and out, into a true coliseum worthy of the name!
The first of these is Skywind Concept Art Arena by Duo Dinamico (aka RandomPal and Vegetto), which overhauls the Arena canton exterior, adding the arena pit to the exterior world space and replacing the dome with a new tent-like structure, with banners hanging from above, and new cozy nooks up in the audience stands.
Based upon the concept art for Skywind by RomanDubina, this is an atmospherically breathtaking overhaul of the Arena canton, adding just a touch of verticality to make the Arena stand out just all that much more!
And for overhauling the Arena interior, there's Lore Accurate Arena, again by Duo Dinamico (aka RandomPal and Vegetto), which replaces and expands the Arena Waistworks, adding new chambers, like animal pens, holding cells, training and dressing rooms, and more, just to add a bit more immersive detail to the workings of the Arena. There's even an addon that adds a series of new fights for you to participate in!
Finally, our last Mod of the Day is Roaring Arena - Betting and Bloodletting by Team VonVom, an atmospheric transformation that adds roaring and cheering crowds to the Arena stands. These crowds will appear whenever a fight begins in the Arena, and the audience will shout their bloodlust, with new voicelines, and applaud when a fight concludes.
Not only that, but there's also new random NPC fights that'll take place in the Arena, and you can even bet on the outcome of those fights! This works with virtually any and all mods that change or alter the Vivec Arena Canton, minus those that move the canton itself, and it is a true atmospheric triumph!
Combined, these three mods turn the Arena into what it was always supposed to be, a blood-soaked venue of thrills and cheers, an entertaining distraction for the masses, where you can feel like a true gladiator! If you've ever wanted a more immersive and atmospheric Arena experience, these three are absolute must-haves!
