This is using a high bit rate DV file that I transferred back in 2013 with the standard composite VCR. I used VirtualDub's dot crawl comb filter and temporal smoother to reduce as much visual noise as possible without degrading the overall clarity. I created a custom color match feature in Sony Vegas that matches VHS colors to DVD. An improvement in my eyes, but some work still needs to be done with brightness and contrast settings. I also did audio noise reduction in Audacity. Video was converted to MPEG-2 with a dual pass to maximize efficiency in compression.
