By pressing A on the right frame of a moonkick, you can do an actual moonjump. You will be flying up until you let go of A or reach the height of a moonkick. Obviously, moonjumping is inferior to moonkicking since it's a lot harder to pull off, you can't turn while flying, you can't cover great distances like you can with a moonkick, you can't jump out of it, etc.
