This song is really about addiction/mental instability - but for my vid, the monsters shown are both the real and the imagined, as well as battling pervasive fears, (though I showed some bits with addiction/and mental/emotional instability as well.) “My” monsters makes it personal, as if the bearer claims them - wants them but also fears them. Some of the “real monsters” (Erik {as Count cel Tradat}, Caleb, Damon, etc) - also show how they are fighting themselves/who they became, some of them through no fault of their own, and I had both the hidden plot (with the Phantom spirit controlling Erik, who wants released from that darkness) and also my PotO vampire fanfic of ‘Through Bonds Immortal’ in mind when doing all PotO scenes. (i.e. -The part with the guitar solo where I showed the vampires relates to my story). I used most of the fandoms I vid, including a couple of new ones - in order of appearance: Outlander, Calivia (Port Charles), Phantom of the Opera (2004), Beauty and the Beast (miniseries), Wuthering Heights (2009 & 2022), Vampire Diaries, Blood of My Blood (Outlander), Phantom of the Opera 25th anniversary, The Count of Monte Cristo, Love Never Dies (movie and stage show), Moonlight, The White Queen, PotO trailers, Wuthering Heights 1992, The Tudors, I Am Dragon, Cursed, and a clip from Forever Knight.
