This capuchin monkey wasted away in captivity. Severe weight loss. His liver failed. His body gave up. And all the while he was tied up, terrified, anxious, utterly broken by the cruelty of being kept as a pet.
We are SICK of this. Sick of watching innocent animals suffer. Sick of seeing them ripped from the wild, chained, caged, and treated like possessions!
Despite the fact that keeping wild animals as pets in Costa Rica is ILLEGAL, we keep seeing this again and again and again. Laws ignored. Animals paying the price with their lives.
Why do people think they have the right to do this? To steal a life, to watch a wild animal suffer in silence until the pain kills them? WHY?
We are angry. We are heartbroken. We are sick to our stomachs that, again and again, we are forced to tell the same story: another wild animal, robbed of freedom, destroyed by greed and ignorance.
This should never happen. Ever. Please share his story. The more people know, the harder it becomes to look away.
