Hi there, my name is Chad Troftgruben and this course is all about Moho and After Effects. In this course, you’ll learn about Moho compositions, how to export out image sequences from Moho, then bring everything into After Effects to add blurs, particle effects, extra animation, blend modes, and color tweaks to make your scenes really pop.
This course was originally on Udemy and toonfiles.com, and is now available here on YouTube for archival purposes. I’ll also leave a link to the original course if you want access to the work files: toonfiles.com/enhancing-animated-scenes-in-after-effects

What you’ll learn in this chapter (Animating Sparks & Bubbles)
In this chapter, we’re inside After Effects building particle-based lava effects, then sending them back into Moho so they perfectly match our original camera movement:
🔥 Animating Sparks
Creating a new 1920x1080, 24 fps “sparks” composition
Using an Adjustment Layer with CC Particle World
Setting up a fountain-style particle system (cone axis, gravity, extra settings)
Tweaking birth rate, colors, opacity, and speed
Using Time Stretch to slow down the particles for a more natural lava spark look
Making the layer 3D and adding a camera to frame the particles for export
💧 Animating Small Bubbles
Duplicating the sparks comp to create a “bubbles” comp
Switching the particle type to bubble
Adjusting birth size / death size and longevity for small rising bubbles
Controlling birth rate, size variation, opacity, and gravity
Using Time Stretch to slow down the bubbles for a smoother, floaty motion
🪨 Animating Rock Bubbles
Creating a separate rock bubbles comp for bubbles near the rocks
Using shaded sphere particles for a more solid look
Tightening the emission radius and tweaking gravity and velocity
Adjusting birth rate and timing so the bubbles feel more condensed and localized
Positioning the emitter so nothing important gets cut off at the frame edges
📤 Exporting Particles as PNG Sequences
Sending multiple comps (sparks, bubbles, rock bubbles) to Adobe Media Encoder
Choosing PNG sequence with alpha for clean transparency
Creating folders for each effect and rendering everything out for reuse
🎥 Reimporting Effects into Moho
Importing each PNG sequence back into Moho as image sequences
Renaming and organizing the effects under the main scene folder
Positioning, scaling, and duplicating sparks and bubbles around the lava
Offsetting image sequences in Moho’s Sequencer so each effect loops differently
Using rock bubbles to help hide hard edges around the rocks and lava
Preparing new layer comps with these effects included for the next After Effects pass
New parts of this archived course will be released every Wednesday, so feel free to subscribe and follow the playlist to stay up to date.
If this chapter helped you understand how to build and integrate particle effects between Moho and After Effects, please like, comment, and check out the rest of the playlist:
