In the EU co-funded 5G-ROUTES project (https://www.5g-routes.eu/), VTT has tested a multi-technology solution that extends the coverage and capacity of mobile communications in maritime environment. The solution uses both 5G public and private networks, as well as multi-hop technology. Multi-hop was first tested in a terrestrial environment in Espoo, Finland, by installing the equipment in the measurement vans from Vedia and VTT.
