As one of the ingredients for concrete, cement is the world's most used building material and is responsible for around 7% of the world's carbon dioxide emissions. Antti Arasto, VP of VTT's Industrial energy and hydrogen research area, explains how the electrified rotary kiln, reduces the carbon dioxide emissions of cement and burnt lime production.

Sementti on betonin osana maailman eniten käytetty rakennusmateriaali ja suuren käyttömäärän takia tuottaa noin 7 % maailman hiilidioksidipäästöistä. VTT:n energia- ja vetytutkimusalueen johtaja Antti Arasto kertoo, miten sähköistetty rumpu-uuni vähentää sementin ja poltetun kalkin valmistuksen hiilidioksidipäästöjä.
