With over 3 million raised on Kickstarter, many more through founder packs on their own website and people buying early access to the Ashes of Creation Alphas... This news comes off as a bit insane.
On the internet people had been warning that the Ashes of Creation's Steam release were the last ditch efforts of Intrepid studios to try and squeeze some more money out of people, and it seems like they may have been right.
Personally I think the game had interesting systems and showed promise, but as clearly is shown here money isn't an endless commodity in the games industry.
