It has to do with Link's put away animation being smooth in MM3D that makes this possible lol. I tried in MM and I couldn't get it to work.
I guess making this MM3D exclusive?

It's a one frame trick, it's kinda hard to pull off but it works. Let the clock be 1 second before hitting night transition and a few frames later press A to put away. It's right before the animation ends.
