This is part 2 of my Core Values exercise done as part of @aworkofheart's Write, Play, Walk workshop (aworkofheart.wordpress.com/2021/05/12/write-play-walk/) based on Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way (amzn.to/3yztbzw).
The prompt for this journal spread was: Core Values. I did an assessment online (lots of tools available if you search for Core Values Assessment on Google) and listed out all the words that I felt aligned with. I then had to whittle down that list to 5 words that resonated deepest with me...that I felt were my guiding principles...it was hard when you have a three pages of words that you feel called to and then decide on just 5! And you can see how that reflects in my journal page here. But I was able to separate the wheat from the chaff, as they say, and make this journal page focused and aligned with how I felt about my core values.
The biggest takeaway for me during this exercise was: it's ok to revisit and "tweak" elements multiple times even if they look "finished." My art page isn't finished until I feel it is and it doesn't have to make sense to anyone else besides me.
