The old STK-4181 was checked with the ohmmeter once it was removed. There was a short circuit between the +VCC (positive power supply pin) and one of the output pins of the STK. Then a sine wave was fed into the aux inputs to see how the signal looked up to the input solder pad of the STK-4181, which was now out of the circuit. Also, voltage checks were done and components in the general area of the STK were checked. So far, so good.
